Just my own opinion, but I think the NEW site really NEEDS a page showing what the quests are. If there is one, I couldn't find it. Something like the "experience and gold page" on the old site. Haplo said if players have energy and they complete quests, another quest will show. Where? We NEED to keep track of these things.
My little "profile box" that shows my information (& containing my gamer icon) is so small. Almost impossible to read anything in it. |

2 things that I would really love to see on the NEW site.
1) A better navigation menu. But I know it will never happen. I have been here for almost 3 years and 2 months, through many site transformations. I have always hated the site navigation. Several times each week I get messages from other players (some new, some old) asking where to find things or how to do things. I'm not the administrator but I do my best to guide them.
2) The second item I would love to see changed is the rate / mail and facebook like games. Yes, keep that. Just change it a little bit. Like I said, I have been here for over 3 years. I have rated and mailed every game on this site MANY times over. I have been here for so long that it is now almost impossible to locate a game to rate and mail. So I find myself looking at the new players profiles and seeing what they are playing. I sometimes find some games that way that I haven't rated or mailed or liked.
OK...that brings up a third item.
3) The "new" games have a little icon saying "new" next to them. Most of these games are NOT new. I have already rated and mailed these "new" games a year or so ago. I even submitted a lot of these games a year ago. It's like false advertising to be listing these games as new.
Hopefully these thought won't be mistaken for griping and criticizing. Please view them in the manner intended...as constructive criticism. Hopefully to make Haplo's NEW site a better place. |

Your active quests are listed in the Active Quests box that appears in the sidebar. You have to have the chat open to see any of the sidebar right now. Am going to change that so you can hide chat without hiding the active quests, quests should be easily accessible at all times. Will also consider making it so there is a master "quests" page that lists all the possible quests (with the explanation that you can't complete all the quests all the time, only when you have them as an "active" quest).

And the "account" menu that appears when your hover over your avatar image in the upper-right, I think it should be more obvious how you get to those choices as they are very important. Awesome, that's great feedback. Now that I think about it, you're right that out of 12k+ games on the site it's hard to find a way to access them all. You can search, but you don't always know what to search for. You can browse the games, but each category/sorting only shows you the first 5 pages. That could be expanded I guess, but is there a better way?
(Of course, for the specific case of email, you know that you can email the same game as many times as you want, and for rating if you get the unlock from the gold shop you can rerate games you've already rated. Those are easy ways to complete those objectives, but the problem still remains that you want to find new games for other reasons, and it isn't easy to do that... ) Need help here, other than showing you page after page of random games, or alphabetically, what are the best ways to find new games out of the 12k there are?

There are over 50 subscribers (email delivery or otherwise) of the rss feed that sends out "new games" to people who want to get such things via, on the news page at playitontheweb.com/news
Without the rss feed, these subscribers would have mostly nothing to get. It's kind of like an autosuggestions feature of new stuff. It's designed so that when it needs to bring stuff to the top, games with the least amount of plays are chosen. I'm not sure I see a compelling need to get rid of this, though I'm sorry if it annoys you. I know it isn't really a good way to find games that you haven't played before, as it repeats games after a while. Maybe I could make it so that it makes better "suggestions" of games to send to people rather than just picking the games that have been played the least, which does cause it to repeat after a while.

The space there is very restricted, both horizontally and vertically. Nevertheless I just managed to increase it from 10px to 11px and it still fits very well. Is that better? Is it acceptable now, or do you think maybe we should get rid of the line that lists your achievements/awards numbers and just have 2 lines of text, the line with gold/xp/leve and the line with energy/favorites/icons

This has been fixed. The upper-right corner was set to always be correct, it uses some of the new fanciness of the site to be informed even when another window/script changes your gold amount. Like if you rate a game and complete a quest and get 5 gold for it, the actual RATING of the game (clicking one of the numbers 1 to 10) has always happened dynamically, it would rate the game and the box would update to say the rating succeeded or failed, without reloading the page. But now the gold in the upper-right is informed and updates as well. No matter what causes your gold to increase or decrease it knows about it and will update.
The gold listed on your profile page, and the gold amount listed when you're on the gold shop page, weren't tied into this new realtime-update. But I just changed them so they are also  . So now the gold listed should match, and be up to date, in all 3 places. (only on the new site)

| What has kinda helped me is to be on the new site and utilize all the new features that I'm able to,and go back to the forum and reread what Haplo has explained.Once you put some of it into play,it begins to fall into place.Of course there's still a good bit to absorb. |

You already have something very close. It just needs to be refined (if possible) to fit specific needs (rate, e-mail, like). I am talking about the BOTTOM of the page: http://www.playitontheweb.com/high-scores . Even with 149 games on that listing, I have already rated most of those. So the actual listing would be much smaller. Even by refreshing the page (as suggested) still brings up the same games after 2-3 refreshes.
I think something like this would be a very useful tool to be placed with every player's profile page because most players do (or should) rate, etc., ion a daily basis.

That little box is better now. Not perfect, but close enough. Special thank you to Saucyone for reminding me of a trick I had forgotten about. Press Ctrl while using the mouse wheel to zoom. Thanks Saucyone.
I think my problem is because I am using a 40 inch HDTV as my monitor. I am sitting comfortably in my recliner almost across the room. My browser is always 110% zoom. I think most players would not have my unique problem.
I find bold text really helps quite a lot.
But I want to give Haplo a HUGE (and well deserved) thank you. He has listened, considered and responded.

I took it up 1 more pixel, and increased the line-height a bit (space between lines). Is that too much? It's now bigger than the sidebar boxes text (activity/quests/chat). But I think thats a good thing because it has denser info than the sidebar (and more often looked at, to see how much energy/gold/etc you have etc)
On some width it overflows the box improperly. If you take the edge of your browser window (not maximized) and resize the width of the window left and right, you can see it works well on some widths and overflows on others. Will fix that in the next day or two.
By the way, added a section about "Item Changes" to the introduction posts of this thread

UPDATE - Everyone now has 1 regeneration per hour, instead of it resetting at midnight
Might change it again in the future but gonna try it this way for now
ANOTHER UPDATE - Ring of Clarity is no longer going to be removed! Instead it is going to boost your energy regen rate by 50% when equipped! So you'll get 1 energy back the first hour, 2 energy back the next hour, then 1, then 2, etc. Also the price of Ring of Clarity is going up! But those who bought the previous version will automatically have the new version at no extra charge! (this effect doesn't take place yet, it will go live when the new site goes fully live) |

Also, added 7 new achievements (for level 5, level 10, and several stages of rune unlocking which I'll explain later). Just know that new achievements are coming as part of the package also |

| LOL I added the achievement for level 10 a couple days ago. I just now added the achievement for level 5. So they are both new achievements, but of course anyone who is higher than level 10 will get both achievements immediately under the new system. It's just that I added the L10 one before, and I just now decided to add L5 also |
