First, Haplo. You are using a NEW word (or term) that scares me. Tyhis term is "strength". What is strength? How do we get it? How do we use it?
Another thing. I am currently level 99...the highest level. I can't go any higher. Has that changed? "Younger" players have an advantage. They are able to get gold from Achievements. I can't do that because I have already completed those achievements.
Another thing. On the NEW site. On my PROFILE page. I have an open chat window. I DON'T do chat. I DON'T want chat on my NEW profile page. So how do I get rid of it? Or can I?

It's not my intention for this site to feel like "work". It should be "fun". I think more options = more fun.
On one hand, if you are trying to say that you'll feel unable to compete unless you put a lot of time on the site (because the new system will reward people who put a lot of time in, and there ARE undoubtedly people who will take advantage of that), then I can kinda see your point. On the other hand, I'm thinking what fun is a site where you just log in for 30 minutes every day and do your quests, and you're done because there's nothing significant left to do?
Help me understand your side of it. Try to see the other side of it too. Then maybe make a suggestion about what a good compromise would be, or what you'd do if you were in my place?
Also, have you been to the new site and tried out the new questing system to see what you think of it in action?

Haplo, I have another question, please. On the OLD site we currently have the equipment of Rings and Swords. On the NEW site will we still be using these Rings and Swords? If we keep them, will the effects be the same?

Yes, the rings and swords will be the same. And I forgot to answer you earlier question, to close the chat on the new site you should be able to click the chat icon (the one that is IMMEDIATELY next to the private messages icon) and it will enable or disable the whole sidebar right now.
I am going to make it so you can hide the chat without hiding *everything* on the right, but that hasn't been done yet. Right now you can show or hide the whole thing.
EDIT: Well there will be a couple minor changes. Like the ring of wealth, instead of DOUBLING the gold from quest completions, will add a flat bonus value to each quest completion, like +5 or +10 per quest. (Right now it's marked as +5 but I am thinking strongly towards making it +10, since its still a pretty expensive item at 7500g). Also, the prices of items are not going to change. Though, the amount you can sell items back for is going to be reduced (so if you wanna sell anything, now is the time to do it on the old site while you can). And a ton of new items are going to be added. |

That was my bad. I apologize. That's what I get for coming to PIOYW as soon as I wake up. Yes, I meant ENERGY. We lose and gain energy? I have no idea how this energy works. What causes a player to lose energy? How much energy do we have?
Please explain everything that we need to know about energy since it seems it will be an important thing to have and use.

Jonny, the Ring Of Clarity is still on this site. It has not been removed. If it has been removed, someone please let US know because I still have it in my equipment.

Haplo, I "think" gold has NOT been awarded. To tell the truth, right now trying to figure out these changes, I don't know what is right or what is wrong. So please excuse me if I am understanding this incorrectly.
But my ALIAS of "Rockcastle" was awarded Earned daily bonus of 57 gold and Veteran bonus of 53 gold.
However, my MAIN profile of Rockcastlecoky did NOT recieve ANY daily bonus or Veteran bonus. |

Confused. First you say we will earn 5 xp points for quests. Below that you state xp/gold are no longer coupled.
Also, has the Gold amounts been raised slightly yet (from 10 to 20 gold)?

| Saucyone, I had another thought. Who plays these games? Obviously we do. But I mean what age group? Mostly younger people. Children. Are children going to understand these new rules? Is Haplo going to write something that even a child can understand? Now that would be a challenge! |

| Children nowadays are much smarter than us,but to be honest,I was on that site and I'm really trying to figure out things. It's just so new to me,and I'm not the "geeky geniuses" you and haplo are. Mercy! Appears things just happen so fast. I've stated this before,I think Haplo is a very brilliant man. I have nothing to gain or lose from that statement. I'm trying so hard to support him,and I want him to be successful. He's young,and he really deserves to be given a chance at all of this. You and I don't agree with certain aspects of his new adventure,but hey,this is his site,his baby,and we need to support him.If he falters by the wayside,oh well. I support him. One more thing....do you think you're smarter than a fifth grader?????????...and on that note.... |

Here goes, as simple as I can make it:
If you have no energy, when you complete a quest you get JUST the gold that is listed with the quest
If you have any energy at all (1 or more), when you complete a quest you get 5 xp along with the gold, and your energy is reduced by 1
Energy is refilled at midnight, and whenever you level up
That's it!
Where it lists Energy next to your avatar icon in the upper-right (on the new site of course), it says something like 5/5 energy or 14/14 energy or 0/14 energy. The first number is how much energy you have right now. The second number is your maximum energy.
So if it says 14/14 energy, that means you can have a maximum of 14 energy, and your energy is FULL. Every quest you complete will give you 5 xp in addition to some gold, and your energy goes down by 1.
If it says 0/14 energy, that means you can have a maximum of 14 energy, but your energy is EMPTY right now. So completing quests will not give you any xp, but they will still give you gold. When midnight comes around, your energy will be refilled (because it's a new day) and you'll start getting XP again when you complete more quests. |

Basically, the ideas is that you can do quests whenever and however many you want. You will never run out of quests to do. And they will always give you gold when you complete them.
Energy is a way for quests to give you XP as well as gold, but energy is limited so that you can't get as much XP as you want in one day, even though you can do as many quests as you want. Once you run out of energy, quests STOP giving you xp until you get more energy. |

To get the daily bonus/veteran bonus, the new site has to be the first thing you log into / acccess after midnight. If at 12:01 AM you access the old site, you will not get a daily/veteran bonus for the day because the old site doesn't have the code to do that. If you use the new site exclusively, you will get the proper bonuses at midnight.
I know the discrepancy is confusing, but I really am planning to be done with the new site/layout in the next few days and making it the main site, so there are some things about the old site that aren't up to date that I'm not fixing simply because that site is going away. |

This is wrong. OR Something is NOT working. OR I am still NOT understanding. I am on the NEW site as I am typing this. I have done my quests ALL from the NEW site.
4 game ratings. 2 mail games. 1 Facebook like. 1 Submit Public Challenge. 2 Daily Challenges won
I started with 14/14 energy. I still have 14/14 energy. I have 14/14 energy so you say below that I can do quests as long as I have energy. So I tried. I mailed another game. But I got NOTHING. ZERO. ZILCH. NADA.
I am level 99 so xp doesn't count for me. So what good is this 14/14 energy doing for me?

I have to admit it. When you're right, you're right. When you're wrong, you're wrong. Haplo was right and I was wrong.
On the OLD site, I "averaged" 240 Gold per day. So I was rightfully concerned about switching to the NEW site. But today I used the NEW site and I am "averaging" (so far) 364 Gold and I'm still not finished.
That's 124 +++ MORE Gold on a DAILY basis. That works for me!
I still don't like the NEW site. It has it's problems. It will need it's fair share of tweaking along the way. But it's Haplo's baby and if he's willing to do the work to make the NEW site work, I just "might" give it another shot.
This 124 +++ EXTRA Gold on a DAILY basis "might" help to soothe my frustrations with the NEW site. |
