In my opinion,it's no challenge to see how much gold you can donate to a player. Why not challenge how many lottery tickets a player can buy,plus,this would be an incentive to increase the jackpot. Everyone enjoys the thrill of a lottery winning..just my two cents worth.

I like the idea, plus like you said it would increase the jackpot and more people might be interested in participating. 
Oh, and congrats, SO for winning the lottery. That was a nice jackpot.  |

| I don't understand... how would it be interesting to have the leaderboard challenge be buying lottery tickets when each person can only buy 20 max? I don't get it. Unless you mean to count tickets you buy for other people towards your leaderboard score... |

| Well,as it stands now,your max is 20,but if you can account for all tickets purchased,a max of 20 for each friend. |

| SO, from what you typed you mean to count not only your own purchases, but also those purchased as a gift for friends, right? At least that is what I got from what you typed. Not sure Haplo has a way of tracking those two combined, don't know. It would make the lottery and the leaderboard more interesting at least as far as the lottery is concerned. |

Now that the number of lottery tickets you can buy is not limited, I have added this as a new leaderboard/mission objective. "Purchase the most lottery tickets this week"
It's scheduled to come up in 4 weeks. However, it may make an appearance sooner than that as I have it planned to make it so that more than one objective ("mission") is available at a time. So instead of only having one objective per week, and only 1 leadership award you can earn per week, I am thinking of having 2 or 3 objectives active at any time. Whatcha think about that idea? Regardless of whether that gets implemented or not, the objective of buying the most lottery tickets is added as of right now, it is objective #8 and we are on objective #4 right now so it is 4 weeks away at present (with the schedule of only 1 objective per week)
Thanks for the suggestion saucy, it was a great one :) I just wanted to wait on this until we had the new item system in place so that lottery tickets weren't limited. Which is now! |

| Personally,I like the idea. The leaderboard is long overdue for a facelift. I never have thought just donating gold was ever a challenge. What effort could that possibly take ? Hopefully, it might be setup similar to the daily challenges. Just a thought. |

| Sometimes I like to sneak in things that aren't necessarily hard, but encourage cooperation or competition in other ways. If the goal was just the amount of gold donated, that would definitely be stupid because you could donate a ton of gold to an alias or a friend and donate it back, etc, but when I hit upon the idea of the number of *unique* players donated to, I thought it would have a net positive effect for the site by encouraging the number of donations (occasionally anyway, when that came up as an objective). I've noticed when donating to new players or players I've never spoken to (often when using the mass donation/share the wealth thing), many times they will send me a message saying thanks and we strike up a conversation. Just an extra little bit to encourage communication among players and foster a community feel to the site. |

LOL! Looks like part of this was implemented before, but due to a bug it never appeared! Can't believe I missed this! But then, I can't believe I missed the server time being so inconvenient for those who live on the east coast either!
Oh well, no sense crying over past failures, just live and learn and try to do better in the future! Closing this thread since this suggestion has now officially been 100% implemented, and I will follow up on it next week to make sure the mission actually does appear and work properly. Onward! |
