One of my achievements is to score 10,000,000 or more on any high score game. I scored 10,476,800 on HotRod Pinball. I was supposed to get 1000 Gold PLUS the achievement. I got NOTHING.

| It happened again!!! This time I scored 24,025,390 on Pepsi Max Pinball. Twice the 10,000,000 needed for the achievement. But still no achievement awarded and no 1000 Gold. |

| Will look into this right away. Don't worry, the high score is listed in your activity so its in the logs, the achievement checker just isn't recognizing it. So as soon as I find the problem and fix it, you should automatically get the achievement (and the gold). |

Aha! I figured it out. I had to wrack my brain on this one, because everything I looked at suggested that it should be fine.
Then I remembered I set up a dependency in the database for achievements. Some achievements require others to be completed before they open up. This is for two reasons: (1) so that new players aren't overwhelmed by too many achievements being shown and (2) to limit the amount of gold new accounts can get. In the case of the "other" category of achievements, the ones that award 1000 (presentmatch,megascore,shutthebox,eastereggs,dealornodeal) were set to require the level 30 achievement before they would open up. The 3000 ones were set to require level 40.
I limit things to new players in a variety of ways, because I don't want somebody creating new accounts over and over just to farm gold. I want it to be more productive to get gold to have a high level account.
However in this case, I am going ahead and lowering the requirements on those particular achievements by ten levels. So the one we're talking about in this thread, you'll get because it'll be required level 20. The ones with a 3000 gold reward I'm reducing to required level 30.
Making that change now. |
