Poll Question:
Should a player's First Place High Scores last for only one month? What do you think?
Clean it out and try again each month. Hold on, hear this out.
It will eliminate stagnancy in the ranks. Peeee-eew!
All players have a chance.
It is less daunting to fight for the top. It depends on dedication to the games you love and expanding on them.
Players tend to specify in certain games and will be able to nab their favourites each month. For some, not much will change at all besides re-achieving present goals, and expanding on that greatly each month. The less ability the player has, the more scores they will find they have than with the old system. Chuck in a new, fair incentive/reward?
This issue has been raised in the past, got some positive feedback and should be raised again because the issue is unresolved and still deserves attention. It would rope in browsers, benefit newcomers, benefit those who feel frustrated and free up the site. Happy site.

| There are also many permanent players with dishonest 1st place scores, these won't go away so long as the players are there, the whole game then becomes all but useless. |

No to monthly First Place scores. Doing so would just make it another tournament or challenge. Players (like Melglora and Toast, for example) worked hard to obtain First Place scores. If someone beats one of my First Place scores, they have earned it. But I agree with you about ANY scores that were gotten dishonestly. |

My comment above also speaks of the Ring Of Smoke, which some players use. To me, it gives the aura that someone has something to hide. I have always been highly against the Ring Of Smoke. I have lost the majority of my First Place scores because I do NOT use the Ring Of Smoke. Like I just said, if someone beats my First Place scores, they have earned it. So would players be more willing to openly display their First Place scores? |

I recently re-bought and equipped the ring of smoke, because I recently came to the conclusion some people are simply negative about players, some @ nearly every player, and rather my history be turned into some elaborate story by people with -whatever- motives, I've been lied about on the forum, accused of such an elaborate array of things I have to laugh, I decided to keep everyone out of it. I have nothing to hide, if you know me as a player you know that. But not everyone out there has good motives, even if it at first seems they do.
For the record, since I have equipped my ring of smoke I have been losing my scores at a slightly faster rate!
And here is my point again. First Place High Scores, above anything else, creates problems. It comes up again and again. On many levels, not just those creating jealousy and slander. Site expansion problems. Stagnancy is a bad thing, you can tell when something is stagnant and needs flushing.
If you check, I've got the most, and this is how I feel. I do not retaliate when people take mine, I do not write messages asking them not to, or then follow up with increasingly nasty messages. I plod along and go for my goals, not aiming to increase my tally. Since I first began here, I found it more worthwhile, the most intelligent choice in time management, to go for my personal goals and let the first place tally come along with it. It works! And I produce little effort towards it. I've tried about twice to increase it, in my time on this site, for about two days apiece, and it's not my thing. I also have tried to take my own, with my aliases (BECAUSE of the whinging, mind), and that was tough as guts. Hats off to those who nab 'em.
But lo and behold! This unattended tally, and others has created so much anguish. Debate. Arguing. Worse! Imaging if I tried, from the very beginning. A little. Or some. Or made it my friggin GOAL! my brain almost pops with incredible amusement at the notion.
So to me it'a all simply amusing, the whole debarcle people have gotten themselves into.
Most importantly though, it is a strong point made by Rock about it just being another challenge. I agree. You're right.
Perhaps there's a way around it?
A notion, have the scores on the players profile, not top players, have a monthly one also, which is the only one displayed below the game. That make sense?

| To do with my "notion", if a player has a ring of smoke equipped, so you can't see the list (only on profile page remember) then you can't see the tally either. Because it's not on "top players", you can't see it here there or anywhere. That's fair. |
