If Haplo were a used car salesman and this site was his used car, would you buy this used car from him? The old site had it's problems. This site SHOULD have been better. But is it??? Really? Is it really better? Just my own opinion but this new site seems to have more problems than the old site did. I'm just thinking. Just saying maybe we were in too big of a rush to move to the new site before the bugs were worked out.

Just saying the new site limits us by way of "active quests". Then we are further limited by our energy.

Just my own opinion. But this site is exercising more control over the players. Quests and energy. We seem to have lost our freedom. No longer can we do what we want and when we want. Now we have to follow specified procedures. Now we can't play it our way. Now we have to play it Haplo's way.

< Message to Haplo. Not complaining exactly. But you did say that you wanted our thoughts and ideas. So here are mine>

I had some ideas also. We were discussing "active quests" and competitions. Why not more competitions? Bring the old fun back.
Just as a "for instance". We have pinball games. We have bowling games. We have baseball games. The list goes on and on. We could have ongoing pinball, bowling, baseball competitions. Like the player who wins the most pinball games, etc. The player who gets the highest score on a pinball game, etc.
Just saying more competition for those who want that. We have the games already. Just more stuff for players to do here. I have seen this done on other game sites. Just give the players more stuff to do here and they will spend more time here.
Not Tournaments. Not Challenges. Just competitions. More reasons to stay and play and just have more fun.

That does give me a couple ideas.

Haplo, I see what you tried to do (active quests). I agree it is a good thought. It's unique. I'll give you that. But I think it requires more thought to be useful to the masses. What is good for me may not be good for others.
For instance, liking a game to Facebook is perfect for me. I use Facebook. But I only know 3 players here who use Facebook. Saucyone doesn't have a Facebook account so it's bad for her...and others.
Top 10 high score would be bad for me because I have been here for so long and have gotten the highest scores I'm going to get. But this is good for players like Saucyone who is a much better player than I am.
Good thought. May or may not work. Just needs to be tweaked or re-thought a bit.

If that's how you perceive it, that's a problem and I'd like to address it. I want the experience to be fun and engaging, not limiting.

In my mind, nothing has really changed, or actually it's gotten better -- before you were limited to a maximum of 4 game rating quests per day, 3 daily challenge quests, 1 of some others, etc. There were like what 10 or 12 quests you could do in a day, and then you were done? That was all you could do. That was to limit the amount of xp you could get in a day, so that people didn't level up too fast.

Now it tells you what quests to do, but they rotate and they never run out. Energy is just the limit on xp, so that people don't level up too fast. So questing is unlimited, but xp from quests is not.

It's a very bad thing if the majority of people perceive the new system as more restrictive/limiting than the old system. I'm not happy at all to hear that's how it feels to you. I'd be curious to know what other people think on this. If others agree, maybe something can be done so that it doesn't FEEL restrctive, because in actuality it isn't more restrictive so it shouldn't feel that way.

Maybe just list all the quests again? Let you complete any of them at any time? Instead of having "active" quests. I thought it would introduce variety to have the quests change as you do them, so it wasn't always the same quests listed all the time, I thought that was kinda boring the way the old system was and thought it would be fun to have it ask you to do quests A & B, then quests C & D, etc.

Apparently what I thought would be fun has turned out to be NOT-fun?
