Frequently Asked Questions
What is this website?
PlayItOnTheWeb is primarily a free online repository of all types of freely-playable online games. Most of the games
available here are flash games, but we also have a variety of other formats, including games you can download for PC or
Mac, browser-based competitive multiplayer games, and more.
Games are published by our members, uploaded from authors and distributors, or obtained from other distribution networks
on the internet that provide free games for whoever wants them. If you have a game you'd like to publish on
PlayItOnTheWeb, use our
submit form. If a game of yours has been published without your consent,
please
contact us with your information and we'll gladly remove it.
Is that it? Just games?
No, it's not
just about the games. We use meta-gamification to add another layer to the gaming experience, providing rewards
for activity on the site like playing and rating games, socializing and competing with other players, contributing to the community, and
spreading the word about PlayItOnTheWeb. You can earn
experience points and gold,
awards,
achievements, and more. Our goal is to provide the most enjoyable online gaming experience possible for players
of all ages.

What is the Gold Shop?
The
gold shop is where you can spend the gold that you've earned on the site. You can buy
upgrades to your account, special items that enhance your abilities, and other rewards.
What is the SiteBank?
The SiteBank rewards you for getting links to PlayItOnTheWeb from other sites. You can either place a link to PlayItOnTheWeb
on your own website or blog, or get us linked from any other site, and then claim credit for the link on the
SiteBank page. The page you got a link on will be automatically monitored to ensure that the link stays
on it, and as long as it does, you will receive 1 gold every day. Since most links are permanent, this means you will receive gold
forever for each link you get to PlayItOnTheWeb, unless the website removes the link or it expires. High-value links provide bonus
earnings.
What are player aliases?
To help ensure fairness, any player who creates more than one account has those accounts marked as
aliases. The system has a variety of ways to detect multiple accounts, and aliases have certain restrictions
placed on them. As an example, as you win tournament awards you will graduate to higher tournament ranks, but creating additional
accounts will not allow you to play in beginner-ranked tournaments if you already have an account that is at a higher rank.
How do I get my game published on PlayItOnTheWeb?
Use the
Game Submission Form. Any other method of sending games to us or telling us where we can
download your game will be ignored. Sorry, but we get game submissions every day and using the form will put them into our
system in a way that's easy to review and approve.
