Experience Points and Gold

Earning experience and gold

Quests are the only way to earn experience points (xp), though they provide both xp and gold. There are a limited number of quests you can complete each day to earn experience and level up faster, but you will also gradually level up just by playing games on the site. Special items you can purchase in the gold shop can boost the amount of experience or gold you earn from quests.

In addition to quests, gold can also be earned by completing achievements, getting links to PlayItOnTheWeb, winning player challenges, placing in the top 10% in the Leaderboard, or by winning the Take a Chance game or the Lottery in the Gold Shop.

What are experience points for?

Experience points accumulate to "level up" your account, as a status symbol and also to unlock certain site features. This experience table lists the possible experience levels, the associated title, any bonus gained, and how many experience points are required to ascend.

What do I do with gold?

Gold can be spent in the Gold Shop, where you can buy rewards, upgrades and equipment. Rewards can be purchased multiple times, and include things like lottery tickets or buying a gift for someone. Upgrades are one-time purchases, identified with a gear icon, that enhance your account in some way such as profile customization. Equipment, like weapons and rings, are magical items that provide special bonuses, but they must be equipped to gain the effect (you can equip or de-equip items from the equipment section of your profile).

You can also use gold as a wager to challenge other players to a high score competition on your favorite game, gift it to newer players, or just save it for a rainy day.
